M&E Design for Grade II listed buildings

Envision were appointed as Great Marlborough Estate’s building services consultant for the redevelopment of three regency buildings on the corner of Great Portland Street and Langham Street.

The development is a mixed use, conversion/refurbishment scheme comprising 17 apartments an A1/A3 commercial unit within properties that are partly Grade II listed. Due to the nature of the building coordination of services was particularly complex. Envision supported the planning submission for the scheme and is designing and coordinating the services and utilities for the site.

The MEP strategy includes a highly efficient HVAC solution (a hybrid VRF system) designed to minimise energy consumption yet maintain internal comfort conditions all year round.  The internal and external lighting design utilises LED fittings appropriate to the listed nature of the buildings throughout.
