Envision is retained as IKEA sustainability advisors for its new projects throughout the UK. IKEA has a global requirement for new projects and major refurbishments to meet BREEAM Very Good as a minimum.
Envision has assisted IKEA to define its BREEAM strategy for its UK stores and is working with IKEA and its multi-disciplinary design team to apply BREEAM on six new build projects in the UK. The IKEA Reading store is the first project in the UK to achieve a BREEAM rating. The scheme includes electric car charging, rainwater harvesting, GSHPs, PV and LED lighting as well as ecological enhancements and sustainable drainage.
