Tarling Road Community Centre

Client: Graham Construction

Location: Barnet, London

Envision have been working with Graham Construction and the London Borough of Barnet to complete the BREEAM Assessment for a new community centre in East Finchley.

The project involves the demolition of the Old Barn Community Centre and the construction of a new purpose build community facility known as the Tarling Road Community Hub. Once built, the new centre will be home to a number of local community groups.

The Centre will provide improved facilities including both a functional space and learning space for the local community groups. The proposals were developed in close consultation with residents and were showcased at public exhibitions to inform the design development. The design incorporates a number of sustainability initiatives to help reduce the buildings environmental impact. The building is designed to achieve a BREEAM Very Good rating. Envision have provided BREEAM Accredited Professional Services from the initial design concept and the building has been awarded its interim Design Stage Certificate reaching the Very Good target.

Based on the positive progress with the team during the first part of the assessment and continued effort during construction, Envision are confident the final Post Construction BREEAM Certificate will be achieved later this year.
