Envision’s BREEAM in Use Market Position

Envision is a leading provider of BREEAM in Use assessments with the UK. We provide quality advice and support, enabling the assets we assess to score some of the highest ratings in the country. 

We operate across a wide range of sectors within the built environment, including offices, retail, logistics, and hotels. We are particularly proud of our work in the Supportive Housing sector, and specifically in residential care homes. Recent analysis by Anjali Khanna, one of our sustainability consultants, confirmed that Envision has completed 98% of the residential care homes assessments listed on the BREEAM portal for BREEAM in Use, making us the leading provider in the Supportive Housing market. 

As an assessment organisation, we aim to reflect accurate asset performance in our BREEAM in Use assessments to both demonstrate good sustainability practices and support our clients in their compliance with ESG frameworks such as GRESB. With 169 certified BREEAM in Use assessments currently live on the BRE’s Green Book portal, our assessments achieve an average score of 64%, which ranks well against other leading assessors. In terms of achieved ratings, 61% of certified assessments scored a rating of ‘Very Good’ and 28% achieve an ‘Excellent’ rating. 

Adding Value 

Working with our clients, we provide BREEAM In-Use assessor and advisory services, delivering robust and rigorous performance assessments aligned with the BREEAM In-Use criteria, ensuring assets are accurately and credibly evaluated. As part of our assessment process, we provide strategic advice to asset managers and tenants on how to enhance the sustainability performance of their assets. This includes conducting comprehensive Sustainability Audits with tailored, asset-level recommendations, as well as Energy Investment Audits to identify future opportunities for improving operational efficiency and long-term energy performance. 

This is demonstrated in our recent BREEAM In Use market analysis, where we looked at our performance as an assessor compared to other leading assessors in the industry. The graph below shows that Envision is leading with the number of assessments certified to a ‘Very Good’, ‘Excellent’ and ‘Outstanding’ BREEAM in Use rating.

We are also one of the few assessors who have achieved ‘Outstanding’ ratings under BREEAM in Use International Commercial V6 in the UK. Less than 1% of assessments (seven assessments) have achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating, three of which have been certified by Envision including 20 Fenchurch Street Part 1 and 2 and Wharfeside Care Home, which is a highly sustainable building delivered by LNT.
