Envision in Slovenia – IKEA Ljubljana

Envision is excited to continue its international expansion by working with IKEA on their new store in the beautiful city of Ljubljana, Slovenia.The building, which incorporates numerous sustainable design features, has been successfully certified by Envision against BREEAM’s rigorous International standards. Working with a fantastic local team, the project has undergone the final stage of verification, achieving its BREEAM Excellent rating.

The experience of applying BREEAM on an international project has been fantastic. There have been some challenges, most especially restrictions on travel due to the Covid-19 pandemic, making it necessary to manage the project remotely via video calls and virtual workshops. This hasn’t stopped us working in a collaborative way with the team to explore sustainable solutions.  

The new store in Ljubljana achieves the highest ever BREEAM rating within the Country.

IKEA applies BREEAM to measure and drive improvements within its building portfolio. Envision has successfully worked with IKEA to deliver sustainable solutions for numerous new stores since 2012. This includes the BREEAM Outstanding rated store in Greenwich – one of the highest performing buildings ever rated against BREEAM anywhere in the world.
