IKEA BREEAM

Envision and IKEA have been working together to achieve a BREEAM Excellent ‘final’ certificate for IKEA Sheffield.

Sustainable development is at the heart of IKEA’s business and all new stores feature proven sustainable solutions in their design, construction and operation. The new store in Sheffield achieves BREEAM Excellent and incorporates a number of sustainable technologies, including photovoltaic panels, rainwater harvesting and links with a district heating scheme. The store is part of IKEA’s wider commitment for using 100% renewable energy.

Charlotte Brewin from Envision said…

We have been involved with IKEA Sheffield since the scheme’s inception. The store opened for business in autumn 2017 and has since undergone a rigorous sustainability audit using the BREEAM assessment method. We are very pleased to announce that the building has now been awarded its final certificate, which reflects the high level of performance that has been achieved. A big thank you to the design and construction team at Sheffield for supporting this process.
